  • Artist John Keeling to make debut at SURTEX

MHS Licensing & Consulting will be introducing artist John Keeling at the revamped and re-energized 2019 SURTEX at the Javits Center in New York City, February 3-6.

“We are thrilled to kick-off the new year with the introduction of such a talented painter,” says Marty Segelbaum, President of MHS Licensing & Consulting. “John’s artwork has broad appeal and will be perfect on a multitude of products making his library ideal for many of the manufacturers we’ll meet with at these pivotal winter shows.”

John Keeling is drawn to the transparency of watercolor. He is able to capture the essence of his subject, be it the fragility of a delicate flower or the devoted gaze of a beloved pet. “Watercolor’s elusive and unpredictable nature make the medium both a challenge and a delight”. John continues, “I seek out both lost and found edges and intentionally balance controlled definition to draw in the viewer.”

John’s fresh watercolor style has broad appeal and is available for licensing on greeting cards, stationery, home textiles, bath ensembles, bedding and more. As a former creative director for Hallmark, John knows product development and consumer appeal.

In addition to new artist John Keeling, MHS Licensing & Consulting will also be introducing new images from their already successful and highly sought-after artist brands at Atlanta Gift Market and SURTEX. Collectively their proven art properties generate over $120 million in annual sales through their licensee partners.

 Press Releases

  • MHS Licensing announces key partnerships and product introductions for The Art of Marbling

MHS Licensing & Consulting is thrilled to announce the launch of multiple product categories with a roster of impressive licensing partners featuring The Art of Marbling branded designs at the Winter 2019 Tradeshows.

Marbling is an ancient art form dating back to the 11th Century coined by Zen monks for its meditative process. Today’s marbling has evolved and these mesmerizing designs are created using floating paints, handmade tools and then carefully transferred to paper. Each handcrafted design is a one-of-a-kind!

The modern marbling trend, recently spotlighted by trend leaders such as Saks Fifth Avenue and New York Times, has been captured by The Art of Marbling by HRJ Design Studio. Heather Fletcher of HRJ Design Studio is a master marbler who has apprenticed with some of the most renowned marbling craftsmen in the world. Heather’s portfolio includes hundreds of patterns with fascinating movement and stunning color combinations.

At the Las Vegas Market, Siscovers will be introducing over a dozen unique designs featuring The Art of Marbling licensed futon covers, curtains, pillows, and quilts as well as bedding ensembles including comforters, bed skirts, sheets and duvet covers. In their showroom at the World Market Center, Building B (1012-1018), attendees can explore the remarkable world of modern marbling first-hand as Heather from HRJ Design Studio demonstrates the captivating process and creates her beautifully handcrafted, organic designs.

“We are thrilled to partner with MHS Licensing and Heather to bring her marbling art to life in soft home furnishings for the bedroom.” says Shari Hammer, Owner/President of Siscovers. “What better place to surround yourself with something that can have such a huge impact on our mood and emotions. Heather’s work is so delicate, so intricate. We’ve been able to stay true to that and produce bedding, pillows, and other items that maintain the character and quality of a hand-made, one-of-a-kind piece of art.”

Later in 2019, look for The Art of Marbling to be featured on products from Galleria Enterprises who will be introducing many different styles of elegant and fashionable bath robes, apparel as well as rain and fashion accessories featuring marbling designs.

Northcott Silk will be debuting a line of licensed designs with The Art of Marbling on cotton fabrics for the quilt, craft and home décor markets.

Indigo Falls will be introducing a collection of The Art of Marbling designs as part of their stainless-steel drinkware line. Each piece will be decorated using a full wrap textured technique.

For the do-it-yourself enthusiasts, a deal is soon to be inked with a publisher for a how-to-book written by Heather, featuring The Art of Marbling designs and techniques for everyone who shares the love for creating things by hand.

"Discussions with many manufacturers confirm that the interest level is very high for these hand-made one-of-a kind marbling designs. These designs cannot be achieved internally and manufacturers are looking for the expertise The Art of Marbling brings." Marty Segelbaum, President of MHS Licensing continues, “With multiple styles and hundreds of color combinations, every licensee can have a unique look and still benefit from the overall trend.”

Hundreds of new hand-crafted designs will be showcased within the MHS Licensing & Consulting booth at the revamped and re-energized 2019 SURTEX. Both SURTEX and the National Stationery Show (NSS) coincide with NY NOW, the nation’s most premier retail event for home, fashion, lifestyle, handmade and gift products. These three shows all take place at the Javits Center in New York City, February 3-6.
